Review: Lexington Battle Green BBQ Festival 2025
If you’re expecting a festival, the Lexington Battle Green BBQ is not it. But if don’t mind a large neighborhood hangout, you’ll be perfectly happy.
I was there with my father-in-law on Saturday, at approximately 4pm. The traffic getting into town was a little crowded, but nothing crazy, and certainly not to the level of say, trying to get out of Foxborough stadium after a concert. Parking along the main road in town was easy enough, and free, considering the weekend.
There were no lines getting into the event, which was held at the parking lot behind 13 Depot Square.
Navigating food options was easy enough - the food trucks lined one side of the venue, so we went down the row of them to look at options. Mostly BBQ, one pizza, one selling skewers… holy cow they were expensive. $5 for 1 spare rib, $7 for 1 chicken skewer. ONE CHICKEN SKEWER! We shared a BBQ plate for $28.
You don’t get many options for drinks. It’s either soft drinks that you could purchase from the trucks as you get your food, otherwise a dedicated truck that sold sugarcane juice. I love sugarcane juice, so that made my day. There were 2 stalls selling beer. My German father-in-law was happy!
There were people who brought chairs and hung out under the shade of trees to just enjoy the music. I would too, had I bothered to bring chairs- the live music was fire🔥.
All in all, the Lexington Battle Green BBQ captures the effortless joy of a laid-back weekend; easy to love.
